Women in the Kibbutz movement
Hilit Ben Zvi is serving as the head of the unit for the Promotion of Gender Equality and Women in the Kibbutz Movement, Moshavim Movement and the Center of Regional Councils.
The unit is in charge to two main areas:
Building and promoting women leadership in the rural sector
Preventing and dealing with domestic and sexual violence in the rural sector
In her job, Hilit has created and is leading many projects and activities, including:
Developing women leadership and professional skills through courses, seminars, leadership workshops, lectures, etc.
Promoting and encouraging women to get involved, take part and seek to be elected to public, political and management positions.
Dealing with cases of domestic and sexual violence, including educating and training of dedicated Sexual Harassment Officers, and staff members of local and regional managements.
Organizing local, regional and national events for the rural sector to celebrate special events such as International Women's Day, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, etc.
Hilit is also constantly involved in public and political efforts to promote those issues, including in the Israeli Parliament (the Knesset), relevant ministerial offices, etc.
